Director’s Statement
This film is really about how a tragic incident from one’s past keeps affecting their future. As a director, I wanted to explore how these perceptions not only effect the individual, but also the people who cross their paths. The title “RIPPLES” seems to sum up this theory perfectly, suggesting that after an initial traumatic event, the positive or negative effects seem to be ever expanding and will effect the lives of people who were not even remotely connected to the original event.
I really wanted to see how with only two principal characters, and their random encounter, these buried tensions would play out. These inner conflicts could have easily remained buried if their chance crossing of paths would never have happened.
This film is my way to honor ‘The Master of Suspense’ himself, the late great Sir Alfred Hitchcock, a cinematic genius that instinctively knew how to weave a thriller, a genre he virtually invented. I truly hope you enjoy the film.
